Types of Flooring
Different kinds of flooring work better for different climates and spaces. That is why Rainey’s Decorating Center carries a variety of different flooring types. Our team of experts would love to show you all the different options and help you pick the right one for each room in your home. We carry hardwood, engineered wood, vinyl flooring, and carpet from Mohawk® Flooring, as well as wood flooring and carpet from Anderson Tuftex™.
Hardwood Flooring
For decades hardwood flooring has reigned supreme as the most popular flooring material. This is because hardwood flooring has a beauty and longevity that can’t be matched. The timeless natural colors fit any interior decorating style, from classic to modern to eclectic. The lasting power of hardwood comes from the fact that it can be refinished several times during its life. Refinishing removes surface scratches and refreshes the look of your home without removing the flooring or compromising the integrity of the hardwood. Hardwood can be more expensive than other flooring options, but it also increases the resale value of your home.
Engineered Wood Flooring
This flooring option has the floor and feel of hardwood and is more cost-effective. Engineered Wood flooring is created by covering layers of plywood with a thin veneer of natural hardwood. The mixture of materials allows for different installation options. This flooring can be installed using nails or glue, and it can even float on a fam or cork underlayer. These additional options allow you to install engineered wood flooring directly over a concrete subfloor, which isn’t possible with most hardwoods. Engineered Wood flooring can’t be refinished as many times as genuine hardwood, but you can usually refinish it once, which gives this flooring some lasting power.
Vinyl Flooring
If you’re replacing the flooring in a moisture-rich environment like your bathroom or laundry room, you’ll want to consider vinyl flooring. Vinyl flooring is designed to withstand heavy traffic, resist moisture, and is quick and easy to clean. Vinyl flooring is a great fit for any home because the unique colors and patterns can mimic the look of hardwood, stone, or tile. You can also choose from stylized designs to create eye-catching accent sections or turn your floor into an artistic statement. Vinyl planks can also be easily popped out and replaced. If there is ever any issue, you can simply remove a single plank and replace it.
Carpet
Carpet is comfortable, soft, and a cost-effective flooring option. The cost-effectiveness combined with the sheer volume of color choices has made carpet an incredibly popular flooring choice, particularly for bedrooms. Carpet is installed over a layer of padding, available in a range of thicknesses, which provides a soft cushion for the floor of your home. Carpet also provides better insulation and sound dampening than other flooring options and is more protective for furniture. Carpet is harder to clean than wood or vinyl, but our selection includes stain-resistant formulas, and the ease of installation makes replacing your carpet incredibly easy.
